- January 18, 2006 Oct 2002 - May 2003 I can't point to that one thing that prompted me to start up the website again. There was a bunch of streams - finding CityDesk, an easy content management system; increase in web projects at work; watching the detritus of the dot.bomb float by; energized by the intellectual survivors, the precursors to Web 2.0; and definitely the bang of the drums of war - but I don't recall what impelled me to start writing. Looking back, it's curious that this embodiment of the site was so verbal, considering my background in expression was primarily graphic and photographic. I remember deciding to make an effort to write as a way to clarify my thinking, particularly about the politics of war. I tried to keep up with the photos, but in retrospect, I don't think I handled them as well as I did in the first incarnation. One of the features of this incarnation was a main home page, with the "blog" being the Opinions. Actually, I tried to emphasize longer articles instead of the quick hit style of blogging. Below are links to different home pages and banners used in the 7 months that this design lived. Banners |
