OK, enough is enough. Condaleeza and Colin have the audacity to get on the Sunday morning shows and talk about us resorting to revisionism??? Give me an effing break. Thank god for free press and bloggers who care, because the record is clear. These s.o.b.s got up in front of the world, in front of the UN and stated in no uncertain terms that there were postively and provably weapons of mass destruction; that the US government knew where they were; and that the sheer quantity of these weapons posed a direct and eminent threat to not just America, but to the whole world as we know it.

So where are these weapons? They aren't there. Period. And these Bushies are now back-pedaling and jibber-jabbering, qualifiying left and right, and complaining about revision. Well, folks, the truth is that they are the ones who are dealing in historical revision, and the goddam ink isn't even dry on the paper!

Good ole John Dean has an article at Findlaw.com pointing out that the mis-use of CIA intelligence is an impeachable offense. And that's the crux of the matter. What has happened to this country that we will stand by and let our public servants lie to us, put us in a political bind, jeopardize our long-term security and not say Boo?

Let's be clear about something. Saddam didn't show the inspectors anything because his whole damned power structure within Iraq depended on the perception outside of the country that he had all this nasty stuff. If America said he had this stuff, then he must. So, if he showed his hand to the inspectors, then it would only prove that he was bluffing America. It would start people thinking that he might be bluffing at home, too. Come on folks, could we please have some sanity about all this? Thank you.

While I'm at it, can we have enough with the Rummy re-write of the military? His shock-and-awe tactics have left us with not enough resources on the ground to control the peace. Iraq is not proof that his theories work, it is proof that they don't work. As stated before here and elsewhere, there really was no real question that we would kick ass out of that third-rate starved military that Saddam hid behind.

The question has always been about the peace, not the war. And Rummy is trying to sit up there and say that the only thing that the military should be concerned about is the war part. What a WIMP. Yes, an effing WIMP. If the man had any cojones, he would step up to the plate and take responsibility for the peace, too. That means taking responsibility for the full manpower situation in country. But that would mean that his pet little McNamara-esque theories don't work.

But no, he stands up there and let's people like Wolfie feed us b.s. about how, even though the Commander-in-Chief says the war is over, the war isn't really over, that this is somehow a different situation than any other post-war confusion. Give me a break.
