yellow

When I first started out cruising the web, the first site that I remember investigating thoroughly was The Motley Fool. Part of the appeal was this color of yellow that they used as bgcolor. I began to have an inkling about the power of hypertext and the pitfalls of non-linear documentation.

It's too bad that they have joined the 3 column format newsletter design syndrome. Major site structure to the left, stuff in the middle, and page specific links to the right. It's ok for quick shots, but does not suit longer, more discursive content. This format addresses some of the most glaring navigational gaffs, but does little to harness the potentially explosive didactic value of the hypertext linking.
